Community Hall Updates
Cappagh Community Hall is the heart of our community, bringing people together for events, activities and gatherings. With limited local amenities, it plays a vital role for residents of all ages. The hall is in daily use by a variety of community groups, including St James N.S., the Women’s Cave, and evening classes, making it an essential hub for connection and social engagement.
However, maintaining our hall as a thriving community hub comes with significant financial challenges. Rising costs for insurance, electricity, heating oil, and general operations are at an all-time high. While grants and public funding help with maintenance and upkeep, they do not cover everything. The day-to-day running of the hall relies heavily on fundraising and the generous support of our community.
2025 Upgrade Plans
Throughout 2025, we have planned several improvements and maintenance projects planned, including:
- Upgrade AED storage unit to ensure easier access and a more modern case. A heated and backlit unit with an easy access keypad
- Re-Painting of the hall externally and internally. Hall is starting to show its age and is in need of a refresh.
- Replace soffit, fascia, and guttering. It has become old and damaged.
- Regular maintenance of hall facilities and car park.
